Full Time Municipal Secretary – Newtown Township, Bucks County, Pa.

Newtown Township, Bucks County Pa, is seeking applicants for one (1) Municipal Secretary Position for Parks & Recreation/Administration. This is a full-time non-exempt position with benefits and a starting rate of $23.37/hour. Pay-rate increases occur annually in incremental steps over the course of 6 years. Qualified applicants must possess a combination of experience and training that provides required knowledge, skills, and abilities. They must be proficient in Microsoft Office programs, possess excellent office communication and people skills, problem solving skills, and be able to handle different tasks and responsibilities simultaneously. The candidate must anticipate and coordinate schedules, projects, and registrations.

Additional essential functions include, but are not limited to, recreation software input including rentals, registration and payments, moderately complex clerical duties, maintaining schedules, addressing walk-ins, filing, accepting and releasing permits, processing mail, and other duties as directed.

High school diploma or equivalent required and three (3) year’s responsible experience in secretarial assignments involving record keeping demonstrating proficiency with general office software. Must have physical ability necessary to perform work related duties such as sitting at a work station, lifting and moving records weighing up to 25 lbs. Pre-employment physical and drug testing required as well as Criminal and Child Abuse Background Checks.
