FIREFIGHTER/EMT

Newtown Township is compiling an eligibility list of potential candidates for the
position of full-time Firefighter/EMT. Qualifying applicants will be required to pass
a written test, physical agility evaluation, background and criminal history
clearance, as well as medical and psychological evaluations.
Qualifying applicants will then proceed to two interviews.
*Applicants that successfully pass the Bucks County Fire Consortium Test in
2025 will not need to complete the written test again; their previous results will be
counted.
Applicants are required to possess:
• High School Diploma or Equivalent
• IFSAC or ProBoard Firefighter 1
• IFSAC or ProBoard Hazardous Materials Operations Core
• IFSAC, ProBoard or PA DOH Vehicle Rescue Technician
• FEMA NIMS Certification ICS100, ICS200, ICS700, ICS800
• PA Department of Health EMT-Basic within one year of hire
• Minimum of 3 years of fire service experience
• Valid Driver’s License and acceptable driving record
• Physical and mental fitness to perform the job duties and responsibilities
of a Firefighter/EMT
Applicants are preferred to possess:
• IFSAC or ProBoard Firefighter 2
• Pump Operations 1 & 2
• IFSAC or ProBoard Fire Inspector 1
• Rope Rescue Training
• PA Department of Health EMT-Basic
• PA Commercial Driver’s License
