As you are aware, our primary responsibilities are annual inspections on all commercial occupancies, fire calls, and medical emergencies. Our office is also responsible for providing the following services:

- Assist Police when needed
- Assist Public Works as needed
Residential Safety Inspections
Newtown Emergency Services Department is always looking for ways to reach out to the community. We offer a complimentary residential fire safety inspection. The inspections are available Monday thru Friday between 8:00 am and 5:00 pm by scheduling an appointment one day in advance. You may contact the office at 215-968-2800 x255.
The primary purpose of the inspection is to advise homeowners and/or homebuyers about common general fire safety issues.. When an inspection is requested, the inspectors will check the following areas:
- Dryer Vent Systems
- Electrical Panel Boxes
- Outlets & Wiring
- Garage Door to Dwelling
- GFI Receptacles
- Fireplace (Visual)
- Doors & Windows (operable)
- Double Keyed Deadbolts
- Detection Systems
- Gas Connections & Shut Off Valves
- Address Posting
- Central AC/ Heating Disconnects
At the completion of the inspection, the resident will be given a packet of fire and home safety information for their review and a review of the inspection.
